Codiaeum
One of the things that most caught my attention about the Croton was its colorful leaves. These give it a very exotic touch visually. But this was quickly overshadowed by the sturdiness of its blades. Little did I expect them to be this thick! The truth is that with that name I already had the feeling that it would be a very strong plant. On top of this, the ease of caring for it makes it even more special!

light and temperature
Despite having an appearance worthy of showing off anywhere in the world, the Croton does not like direct sun, so it is preferable to locate it in an area where the light affects it indirectly. It would be a great pity if its beautiful leaves were burned!
irrigation, fertilization and transplant
Watering it once a week is enough, although in the hottest months it will be necessary to water it once more. And just like us in summer, a little swim in the pool feels great, because it doesn't hurt to spray the leaves with water from time to time. I was fascinated by how quickly this plant grows. And more if during the hot months an extra fertilizer is added. It is one of those plants with which you do not get bored! This is one of those plants that settles with little, so it is not necessary to transplant it, unless the pot is too small for it.
diseases and pests
The Croton not only has strong leaves, but its protection mechanisms are also worthy of admiration. If it is kept in optimal conditions, it produces a liquid sap that serves as a protective barrier against pests. A bomb-proof plant!
Jordi's notes
This is one of the most colorful plants I have, and it brings a lot of color wherever it is. With all this joy and good vibes that it gives off, I'm going to call it Papua, a country where you can only have fun.
